Ein Krankenhaus von enormem Maßstab — rund 330 Mio. Euro Baukosten —, das flach und angepasst in die Landschaft gebettet liegt; ein nahegelegener Fluss wurde eigens dafür umgeleitet. Eine streng orthogonale Geometrie schafft größtmögliche Flexibilität in der Raumaufteilung. Die Farben der Bepflanzung in Höfen und Gärten ziehen sich als Bodenfarbigkeit ins Innere fort und strukturieren die einzelnen Bereiche — Wände und Decken bleiben bewusst monochrom. Die Feinarbeit entstand im Detail — Türen, Fenster, Verschattungssysteme, Trennwände, bis hin zu Türlisten und Schließplan in Abstimmung mit den Firmen GEZE, Grundmann —, in laufender Abstimmung mit dem entwurfsverantwortlichen Büro in Paris und regelmäßigen Baustellenbesuchen vor Ort.

A hospital of enormous scale — roughly €330 million in construction costs — set flat and adapted into the landscape; a nearby river was rerouted to accommodate it. A strictly orthogonal geometry allows maximum flexibility in spatial layout. The colours of the planting in courtyards and gardens continue inward as floor colouring, structuring the different zones — walls and ceilings remain deliberately monochrome. The fine-grained work lay in detail — doors, windows, shading systems, partition walls —, in ongoing coordination with the design-responsible office in Paris and regular site visits.
